Shanxi's state-owned coal mines supply 1/3 output for term supplies in past 5 yrs
Shanxi's provincial state-owned coal enterprises (SOEs) produced a total of 2.9 billion tonnes of raw coal in the past five years, with nearly 1 billion tonnes supplied for mid- and long-term thermal coal contracts, according to a press conference held by the Shanxi Provincial Government Information Office on December 11.
As a major energy-producing province, Shanxi built 301 advanced coal mining mines over the past five years, accounting for over 95% of the total.
The province also launched China's first provincial-level coal industry Internet platform, which played a significant role in advancing the transformation and upgrading of Shanxi's coal industry.
R&D investment intensity increased from less than 2% to 2.3%, with 14 original technology hubs established, one senior official said during the conference.
The press conference also highlighted SOEs' key role in supporting national strategies. During the 14th "Five-Year Plan" period, Shanxi's SOEs actively integrated into regional coordinated development and supported national strategies.
