Coke exports from Indonesia rebounded markedly in August by over 10% compared to the month before, snapping a two-month losing streak, official data showed.

Indonesia exported 559,400 tonnes of coke in the month, rising 27.7% on the year and 13.01% on the month, according to Statistics Indonesia.

The coke exports were worth $101 million, down 12.47% from a year ago but up 10.73% from the month prior. The average export price was calculated at $179.68/t, down 31.46% on the year and 2.01% month on month.

Indonesia exported 149,000 tonnes of coke to the top destination, India, in August, falling 7.59% year on year yet gaining 13.77% from a month earlier. Exports to South Africa stood at 86,300 tonnes, compared with zero both in the previous year and in July.

Vietnam received 78,400 tonnes of coke from Indonesia during the same month, climbing 31.96% on the year and 23.17% on the month.

From January to August, Indonesia's coke exports amounted to 4.28 million tonnes, a 47.98% year-on-year spike, data showed, with the value totaling $887 million, advancing 2.53% from the previous year. The average export price was $207.38/t, falling 30.71% from a year ago.
