India's Nov power consumption down 0.8% on yr
India's power consumption declined 0.8% on the year to 123.4 GWh in November. Despite a slight dip, it represents the second consecutive month of reduced power consumption.
In October, India experienced a 6% year-on-year decline in power usage, following a 3.2% increase in September. The weaker demand was largely attributed to favorable weather conditions, which reduced the need for cooling.
November's consumption was also influenced by weather disruptions, including a storm in eastern India and rainfall across the southern regions, as well as in Maharashtra and Gujarat, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Looking ahead, the IMD forecasted that temperatures in most parts of central and northwestern India, as well as adjacent peninsular areas, will approach or fall slightly below normal minimums during the upcoming winter months.
