India's CIL Feb coal output up 0.81% YoY, sales down 1.43%
State-run Coal India Limited (CIL) produced 74.7 million tonnes of coal in February, slightly gaining 0.81% from 74.1 million tonnes a year ago.
The output volume was 6.39% lower than the month-ago 79.8 million tonnes, according to a company statement.

CIL's coal sales came in at 62 million tonnes in February, a 1.43% drop year on year and 6.49% decrease month on month, reflecting weaker demand or logistical constraints among most subsidiaries.
The diverging trend between monthly output growth and sales contraction indicated emerging inventory and demand-side pressures that could influence CIL's supply planning, cash flows, and its near-term positioning in India's coal and power markets.
The company churned out 684 million tonnes of coal over the April-February period, down 1.67% year on year. Total coal sales declined 2.81% from the year before to 675 million tonnes.
CIL, accounting for over 80% of India's domestic coal output, targets coal production of 875 million tonnes in FY26 and sales of 900 million tonnes.
