Head of the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) Vice Admiral TNI Irvansyah said his troops' success in thwarting the actions of pirates targeting ships loaded with coal was a trigger for the enthusiasm of other personnel to be more active in patrolling and taking action against parties who violate the law at sea.

With a strengthened spirit, he believes that law enforcement can be carried out consistently so that Indonesia's maritime sovereignty can be maintained.

"We will continue to strengthen marine patrols, improve coordination, and enforce the law for the creation of a safe and sovereign Indonesian sea in accordance with Bakamla RI's vision to be ready to secure the Indonesian sea to realize advanced Indonesia," said Irvansyah in an official press release received in Jakarta, Thursday, confiscated by Antara.

Previously, Bakamla personnel succeeded in thwarting the action of pirates targeting coal cargo ships in the Balikpapan area, East Kalimantan on Wednesday, October 15.

The piracy incident occurred around the waters of East Kalimantan.

The two ships are known to be carrying coal with a total weight of 7,407 metric tons.

Based on the report, Adi Poetra immediately moved his ship to the location to follow up on the report.
