China's installed power capacity up 17.3% YoY by end-Nov, NEA
China's installed power generation capacity reached 3.79 TW by the end of November, rising 17.1% from a year earlier, showed data from the National Energy Administration on December 26.
This suggests that about 40 GW of new capacity was added last month, from 3.75 TW registered at the end of October 2025.
Hydropower installations totaled 444.90 GW, up 3% year on year, while thermal capacity reached 1.52 TW, up 5.9% from a year ago. Nuclear capacity rose 7.6% to 62.48 GW.
Installed wind capacity was 602.64 GW, growing 22.4% year on year, and solar capacity climbed 41.9% to 1.16 TW, data showed.
In January-November 2025, utilization of power plants averaged 2,858 hours, down 289 hours from the year before, official data showed.
China invested a total of 850.0 billion yuan ($121 billion) in major power projects over the period, falling 1.8% on the year. Investment in grid projects rose 5.9% on the year to 560.4 billion yuan.
