China's Ganqimaodu imports 33.90 Mt of coal as of Nov 16
Ganqimaodu border crossing, China's largest inland road port for coal imports from Mongolia, handled 35.83 million tonnes of cargo as of November 16, 2025, including 33.90 million tonnes of imported coal, according to the official Wechat account.
The port targeted 45 million tonnes of coal imports in 2025, and completed 75% of the goal as of November 16. Cargo exports amounted to 527,800 tonnes over the same period.
Customs clearances of Mongolian coal trucks via Ganqimaodu port shrank recently, as domestic buyers avoided high-priced cargoes and futures prices continued to retreat.
Ganqimaodu border port let in 1,293 trucks of Mongolian coal each day on average over November 11-15, down 10.57% from a week ago, Sxcoal data showed.
Coal inventories at supervision warehouses climbed further during the given period, partly due to relatively high intakes and easing end-user purchases. As of November 16, coal stocks reached 2.74 million tonnes, up 4.9% week on week, Sxcoal's tracking data showed.
In the month to November 16, Mongolian enterprises put a cumulative 2.4 million tonnes of coal for auction on the Mongolian Stock Exchange, of which only 1.95 million tonnes were sold, showed data compiled by Sxcoal.
As of November 16, totaling 34.46 million tonnes of coal were auctioned on the MSE this year, with 17.66 million tonnes being sold. Among the successful trades, the majority of cargoes were delivered to Ganqimaodu port.
