China Mar coal imports up 0.84% YoY
China imported 39.06 million tonnes of coal in March 2026, rising 0.84% from 38.73 million tonnes a year ago, showed the latest data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on April 14.
The volume was 26.23% higher than 30.94 million tonnes in February.
Value of the imports amounted to $2.94 billion in the same month, increasing 3.06% year on year and 30.45% month on month. The average import price was calculated at $75.38/t, advancing $1.62/t year on year and $2.44/t from a month ago.
China's coal imports totaled 116.28 million tonnes over the first three months this year, 1.3% higher than the year-ago level, with the value down 6% on the year to $8.73 billion, data showed.
