Eastern China's Anhui province produced 102.25 million tonnes of raw coal in 2025, falling 3.2% year on year, according to data from the provincial statistics bureau.

In December alone, the province's raw coal output stood at 8.35 million tonnes, 6.4% lower than the year-ago level, data showed.

During the month, local power companies above designated size (20 million yuan revenue from main businesses) generated 31.16 TWh of electricity, a 1.9% decrease on the year.

Power generation from thermal coal and hydro sources registered year-on-year declines last month, down 5.2% and 6.8%, respectively, while wind and solar power generation climbed by 66.9% and 3.6% from the previous year.

The cumulative power generation over the year dipped 0.9% from a year ago to 352.26 TWh in Anhui province.

In addition, the province processed 7.51 million tonnes of crude oil in 2025, sliding 3.7% on the year, with 570,000 tonnes processed in December, down 10.2% year on year.
