China exported 0.53 million tonnes of coal in August 2025, plunging 45.5% from a year earlier and 32.91% from a month ago, according to the latest data released by the General Administration of Customs.

Coal export value was $70.73 million in August, decreasing 60.9% on the year and 27.83% on the month. That put the average export price at $133.46/t, down $53.72/t from the preceding year but up $9.39/t compared to the preceding month.

China exported a total 4.64 million tonnes of coal in the first eight months this year, down 0.7% from a year ago, which was worth $677.89 million, down 27% year on year, data showed.

The country's coke and semi-coke exports amounted to 0.55 million tonnes in August, 0.8% lower than the same period last year, and the export value decreased 29.1% from the year-ago level to $80.9 million.

Cumulative coke exports stood at 4.95 million tonnes over January-August, down 20% year on year; the export value was $844.24 million, declining 42.8% compared with the same period last year.

China's exports of cement and cement clinker totaled 1.28 million tonnes in August, surging 224.9% year on year, and the value soared 132.9% from the year-ago level to $52.80 million.

The aggregate cement exports were 6.45 million tonnes during the first eight months, jumping 78.3% year on year; the export value gained 36.6% on the year to $289.02 million, data showed.
