The Indonesian KADIN Board in CSR and Business Competition invited committee members and CSR activists at the meeting on January 8, 2019 with the main agenda discussing "sneak preview" from the book "Towards Sustainable Business" published by KADIN Indonesia.
The event was chaired by Suryani Motik, Deputy Chairperson of Indonesian KADIN in the areas of CSR and Business Competition and attended by Hendra Sinadia representing APBI, CSR activists from several companies including Adaro and also Jalal, a CSR observer. The book was carried out jointly by a small team from the Indonesian KADIN CSR field, which was a 2 year long process. The focus of the book is to provide practical guidance on the implementation of CSR by referring to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
In addition, the urgency of the sustainable business and its contribution to the SDGs 2030 is an important discussion of the book, including the role of CSR from the company. The book also presents case studies from 5 companies in Indonesia, namely Astra International, Arus Liar, Medco Energi, PT Gajah Tunggal and Adaro Indonesia. According to Indonesia's KADIN plan, the field of CSR and Business Competition will hold a series of discussions and seminars related to the book to disseminate to stakeholders about practical guidance on the implementation of CSR in the direction of sustainable business. APBI appreciates the publication of the book, which of course will be beneficial for business people to better understand the SDGs 2030 and practical guidance on the implementation of CSR. As is known, coal mining companies have an important role in the successful implementation of SDG 2030.
